KidsConsignmentSales.com is owned and operated by Linda Lansford, a stay-at-home, single mom in Nashville, TN
After the birth of her first child, Linda gave up her career in Information Technology to stay home with her son. She quickly learned about seasonal consignment sales, and became a consignment sale addict, often joking that there should be a 12 step program for women who shop consignment. (After all, who can resist Gymboree for $4?) When the opportunity came in early 2004 to take over a seasonal consignment sale, Linda took the plunge and quickly quadrupled the size of her sale.
When she began discussing her new business venture with friends in other parts of the country, she found they had no idea what a seasonal consignment sale was even though there might be several in their area. Parenting resources vary widely from region to region, and while there were some very good city-specific listing sites, there was no central place on the Internet to look for information about seasonal consignment events.
It was with this idea that Linda created Kids Consignment Sales, the first national directory listing devoted strictly to seasonal baby and children's consignment events. Using a "Yellow Pages" type model, she offers free basic listings to create value for shoppers and consignors. Sale organizers then have the option to upgrade their listing to include more detailed information, while still maintaining a simple, readable interface.
Linda started creating websites in 1996. She has extensive experience in Search Engine Optimization and Internet Marketing. In addition, she is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, is Novell Certified and holds a Network + certification.
Linda is a single mother with two children. She enjoys rock climbing, geocaching, gardening and of course consignment shopping!
